The Timber Roasters Story
From the highlands of Jos to the heart of Portland
This is more than a coffee brand. It's a bridge between two homes, built on soil, memory, and the belief that great coffee should do good in the world.
Born in Nigeria, grown in Jos
The Jos Plateau sits at over 1,200 meters above sea level — a cool, fertile highland in central Nigeria where volcanic soil, morning mist, and equatorial sun create conditions few coffee-growing regions can match.
Our founder was born and raised in Nigeria, and the farm in Jos isn't just a supply source — it's home. The land, the workers, and the community are the foundation everything else is built on.
Hand-picked with intention
Every cherry is selected by hand at peak ripeness. Our farm team picks only what's ready — ensuring each bean that makes it into your cup has earned its place.
This is slow, careful, purposeful work. The depth and clarity you taste in every Timber roast starts right here, on the branch.
From Jos to Portland, direct
After picking and processing, our green beans travel directly from the Jos farm to our Portland roastery — no middlemen, no mystery. Every step is traceable, every batch accountable.
After a decade in Portland, our founder saw something missing in the city's specialty scene — Nigerian Arabica. Timber Roasters is here to change that.
Roasted in Portland, with care
Each batch is roasted in Portland to unlock the unique terroir of the Jos Plateau. We don't chase trends — we chase the best expression of this specific bean, from this specific place.
When you buy Timber, you're investing in the people who grow it — and in a community that deserves to share in its success.
